When we first opened Fotocolaj in 2014, the idea of our project started from the need and the pleasure to have the photos of the loved ones close to us, in a warm form, more human.
For sure, our phone is always handy and the pictures taken are a few clicks away, but we know that the screen can not replace the atmosphere that a painting, calendar or a photo album creates.

While testing our service, we cheered our homes with images from the holidays, or snapshots and landscapes with the ones that we love. Fotocolaj is now a mature product that offers, in a user-friendly interface a lots of options to customize your photographic project, a photobook, a canvas, a calendar and other prints.
And because photobooks are among the most common orders, we want to bring you some recommendations on how to create a photo album, the way you like.
Let's begin!

First off, let's think about the photos you want to include in the project:

• What is their subject? There are pictures of travel, wedding or baptism, anniversaries or other social events, of product or photographer portfolio?
  Depending on your answer to this question you can choose one of the eight predefined types of albums from the Fotocolaj platform.

• What is their orientation? The photos are more vertical, horizontal or there is a mix of shooting angles?
  According to this criteria, you can choose the most suitable size (20x30cm, 30x20cm, 30x30cm, 20x15cm, 20x20cm) so that the subject is highlighted and played back faithfully.

We are getting now to the content of your future album and here we have some guiding questions:

• What is the story you want to tell with this album? Our platform allows you to manually arrange each image so that the thread of the narrative will flow naturally and convey your message.
  If the album is dedicated to a single event we recommend you the chronological arrangement of the photos, choosing the most iconic images of every moment.
  If you have photos of a product, show the sharpest and atmospheric image in central and the other ones next to that one, because helps you to expose the shooting process.
  The portfolio albums can be structured thematically (by sections devoted to each type of photography in hand – for example nature, portrait, macro, product) or even the logic of a CV, highlighting chronological your photographic talent evolution.

• How many photos you want to include your album?
  Fotocolaj albums include the standard 24 pages, with an average of 2 or 3 photos per page so that you can have between 50 or 60 photos in your album. For more detailed stories can be added up to 36 additional sheets. A sheet means 2 pages, which means space for about 4-6 images per sheet.

And now, when you decided your future format and content of the album, it's time for small special effects with high impact:

• Stickers - depending on the chosen theme, you can work with a matched set of stickers that can be overlaid anywhere in your album pages. You can precisely control their position, rotation angle and their size.
  Our customers use them in particular to highlight an item in the photo, to amplify the atmosphere or simply for the pleasure of playing.

• Tags (text) - Sometines you feel the need to explain a frame, to add details regarding the date, location, characters or transmit an additional message for the viewer and precisely for these situations we included in Fotocolaj the option with written tags. You can easily add them anywhere in your photo album and you make sure that the history of a moment remains clear for posterity.

• Background colors - each page in your album can be customized with a different background color or a geometric pattern, floral, pastel. Pair them with your photos and amplify their effect on each page.

• Layout - you can enter from one picture to 6 photos to any album pages. Most often pages with multiple photos are dedicated to detail images(photos with the same theme but made from different angles) or sequences of a moment, while portraits, couple photos, perfect landscapes are presented on individual pages or with limited images.
